How we met....

Jaime and I met in October 2006 in Nashville, TN courtesy of The Goettling family and the Collins' family (Jaime's boss and My boss). I was 84 days out from my transplant and was coaxed into posting bail and getting out of Atlanta for the weekend to reconnect with some friends. Jaime happened to join the group for the evening and the rest is history - or at least not suitable for a public Internet blog (just kidding).

It is important to note that the first time we met I had NO HAIR, not an eyebrow, not an eyelash - nothing. After that weekend - I started radiation and wasn't really into dating. So - we kept in touch with the occasional email/text message until March 31, 2007 when Jaime came to Atlanta for the Final Four Basketball game where the GATORS were competing for the national championship. After that weekend Jaime and I decided there might be something that we liked about each other - so we met up in Chattanooga 3 weeks later for a little rendezvous. Following that weekend we made plans for our third date - which would take place in BARBADOS - courtesy of Simone and Jimmy. While we were there we celebrated my 30th birthday and enjoyed falling in love in such a romantic place.

In Barbados we decided that we were going to figure out a way to make 'long distance' work. With Jaime in Nashville and me in Atlanta we met up on the weekends and tried to see as much of each other as possible - sometimes waiting until Monday mornings to head home. In August of that year - Jaime took a new position with Ticketmaster in Orlando, FL. So, we continued long distance - just changed our mode of transportation to planes.

In May of 2008 while we were in Barbados (again) celebrating our year anniversary and enjoying time with the Mets', we got the AMAZING news that Jaime would be moving to Atlanta. In July Jaime packed his bags and moved to Atlanta where we were able to start sharing our lives together on a daily basis.
